Adaptavist Update 18/12/2020:

Hi All,

Thanks for taking the time to upvote this feature request. I’m pleased to say that we will start development on this in mid-January next year!

The plan is to let you define your own/preferred “JQL Search Term” when creating/edited a Scripted Field which you can then use in JQL searches (just like you do with custom fields currently) in native Jira search, or ScriptRunner Enhanced Search.

If you would like to be added to our early-release cohort, so that you can test this feature and give us feedback prior to a general release then please let me know (along with your Atlassian site URL) via email: rrules@adaptavist.com

Many thanks,

Hi All - I’m please to say that this feature is now available to early access users!

Early access is where we look to get some real-world use and feedback from early adopters before a general release, and hopefully catch any unforeseen bugs along the way. With Scripted Fields JQL searchability, you can add a “Search Term” to your scripted field which can then be used in JQL to search for issues matching the Scripted Field value to your JQL criteria.

Please note in the current implmentation while fully searchable using JQL, Scripted Fields won’t show as available columns in the grid view when JQL searching due to existing Jira Cloud limitations.

Thanks,

Hi All - This feature has now been released. You can now search in JQL using your ScriptRunner Scripted Fields!

When you create a new / edit an existing Scripted Field, you’ll see a new user-entry field for “Search Term” - this is the word you’ll use when referencing Scripted Fields when searching using JQL.

As mentioned previously, please note that Scripted Fields won’t show as available columns in the grid view when JQL searching due to existing Jira Cloud limitations.

Thanks,
