I would like to get all the initiatives (keys) in which my project is involved. It means all the existing initiatives created across multiple projetcs, my team needs to know where some worked is required to achieve the different initiatives across the organization. It will be very useful to plan the activities et make a high level prioritization
I would like the ability to list all of children of an initiative for reporting.
Users asking for a way to filter on PortfolioChildrenOf
We are managing Feature (Epic level, in SAFe) and we really need to get Stories expected on a certain PI (information stored on Feature). Really need in Cloud version like in Server ;)
We need this feature to be able to get results from Initiatives linked to Themes and Epics in Jira Cloud
We’re now looking into the feasibility of introducing this function to Cloud. As Portfolio is now Advanced Roadmap on Jira Cloud, we want to update the name of this function.
Would love to hear all your thoughts! Any suggestions? How do the below sound or does it not really matter to you?
advRoadmapChildrenOf
advRoadmapChildren
advRoadmapDependentIssues
Hi Gli,
Thanks, same topic that parentOf (see my comment).
In my opinion, we need a generic childrenOf(JQL) function. That will return children for every type of issues and level of hierarchy.
No need to call it with advRoadmap as it’s now fully integrated into Jira (and more renamed as Plan).
What a beautiful world to have two generic functions parentOf(JQL) and childrenOf(JQL) ! (And no need to keep subtasksOf())
This was my 2 cents.
Bon courage
Is there a need to tie this directly to Advanced Roadmaps? As the hierarchy in that feature is based off of the linking hierarchy, could we do something simpler like “parentsOf” or “childrenOf”?
We have 100’s of filters already using the PortfolioOf names, changing them would require us to edit each one to update to a new name. I get it that Portfolio is now advancedroadmap, but isn’t this hierarchy of parent links being adopted across all of Jira and is no longer just an advanced roadmap thing, I guess I was thinking did you want to this capability to appear as if it is only an advanced roadmap item, where I believe we will being to be able to use these relationships in more than just advanced raodmaps.
Thanks for your all your feedback so far!
@Bonnie.lopes Whatever we decide for the new names, if you were to move to Cloud, we would also try to find a way to migrate your hundreds of PortfolioOf queries without you having to manually change the queries
No strong preference on the name! But so excited to have this in Cloud :)
The fewest letters as possible. arChildrenOf() or arChildren() please don’t make me type out advRoadmapsDependentIssues when I have to document what I wrote in the query. Be kind.
Based on the name of the product changing over the years - perhaps think on something that reflects the hierarchy rather than the product? HierarchicalParentOf() ?
I agree no strong prefernce other than to not make it horribly lengthy. As a recent conversion to cloud we are missing this ability. Another person contacted me today as to why they can no longer search this way.
